Educational Resources
College of Santa Fe - CSF is a private college founded in 1859 by the Lasallian Brothers, a Catholic teaching order devoted to the following ideals still embraced on campus today:
CSF seeks to help students understand the world and find ways of making it better. That includes students of every demographic. They are diligent in offering flexible programs so that all are welcome and able to study here. They emphasize thoughtful academic advising, and pay specific attention to ethical values, both in and out of class.
CSF is committed to educating the "whole student." Its core curriculum includes interdisciplinary team-taught courses that explore complex subjects in the humanities, creative expression, social and natural sciences

Marion Center for Photographic Arts - The Center provides students interested in photography and photo-based works an opportunity to earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree or Bachelor of Arts degree. The curriculum is devoted to the production of fine prints and works that mix a variety of media with photography, including installation, new media and time-based work.
Students enjoy state-of-the-art facilities and a dynamic curriculum devoted to concentrations in studio, history and curatorial photographic arts inside an extraordinary building designed by internationally renowned architect, Ricardo Legoretta.
Aspiring photographic artists and arts advocates learn from some of the most successful contemporary artists and faculty working today. An exceptional degree of professional and academic experience in both liberal arts and studio tracks complements the Marion Center's goal -- to cultivate knowledgeable and well-rounded artists, committed historians, and innovative curators with a drive for originality, creativity and critical thinking, rather than students with a singular aesthetic persuasion.
An integrated approach to the study of photography is enhanced by a non-circulating Beaumont and Nancy Newhall Photographic Library, a preservation lab and collection vault that houses a 1,000+ fine print teaching collection.
An international lecture series, visiting artists, Atrium Gallery exhibitions and monthly salons compliment a student's academic experience by showcasing eclectic, inspirational and thought-provoking work from around the country and the world. Apprenticeships and internships as well as artist commissions and grant funded projects connect the classroom with the larger community

University of New Mexico, College of Fine Arts, Art & Art History Department, Photography Programs - The emphasis in the photography program is on the development of a student's vision and on encouraging fluency in the medium's special language within traditions of the fine arts and humanities. The department offers no courses in commercial photography. Instruction is by lecture, demonstration, and assignment along with individual and classroom critique. Usually 15 sections of photography are offered each semester at the undergraduate level with an average enrollment of 18.
Facilities include beginning and advanced darkrooms for printing and film processing in both black and white and color, a non-silver printmaking area, and a computer lab for digital imaging. The department provides a limited number of special cameras and lighting equipment for advanced students. Students furnish their own primary camera, film, and paper.
Successful completion of undergraduate and graduate programs requires a firm commitment to work vigorously and intensively at the highest levels of creative and intellectual capacity. Self-discipline is crucial, standards of achievement are high, and substantial additional time is required beyond scheduled classroom activity. Learning is reinforced by extensive library holdings and one of the largest collections of fine arts photographs in any University Art Museum. The faculty are a diverse group and students are encouraged to work with each of them.
